Ingredients
Scale
1 lb ground chicken
1/2 cup all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
1/2 teaspoon paprika
1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
1 large egg, lightly beaten
1 cup panko breadcrumbs
Vegetable oil, for frying
1 cup plain Greek yogurt
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 tablespoon lemon juice
1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped
Pinch of salt for sauce
Instructions
In a medium bowl, combine the ground chicken, flour, salt, pepper, paprika, and garlic powder. Mix until just combined.
Place the lightly beaten egg in one shallow dish and the panko breadcrumbs in another shallow dish.
Form the chicken mixture into small, flat patties, about 1/2 inch thick.
Dip each patty first into the egg, letting excess drip off, then press firmly into the panko breadcrumbs to coat both sides completely.
Pour about 1 inch of vegetable oil into a deep skillet or pot and heat to 350°F (175°C). Use a thermometer to check the temperature.
Carefully place the coated fritters into the hot oil, ensuring not to overcrowd the pan. Fry for 3 to 4 minutes per side, until golden brown and cooked through.
Remove the fritters and place them on a wire rack lined with paper towels to drain excess oil.
While the fritters drain, prepare the sauce: In a small bowl, mix the Greek yogurt, minced garlic, lemon juice, chopped parsley, and a pinch of salt. Stir well.
Serve the hot, crispy chicken fritters immediately with the garlic yogurt sauce for dipping.
Notes
For extra crispiness, chill the coated fritters in the refrigerator for 15 minutes before frying.
If you prefer not to fry, you can bake these at 400°F (200°C) for 15-20 minutes, flipping halfway, or use an air fryer at 375°F (190°C) for 10-12 minutes.
You can substitute ground turkey for ground chicken if desired.
