Ingredients
Scale
2 large frozen bananas, sliced
1/4 cup unsweetened plant milk (almond or soy recommended)
2 tablespoons peanut butter
2 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder
1 scoop vegan chocolate protein powder (optional)
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions
Place the frozen banana slices, plant milk, peanut butter, cocoa powder, optional protein powder, and vanilla extract into a high-powered blender or food processor.
Start blending on low speed, using the tamper tool constantly to push the ingredients down toward the blades.
Add only small amounts of extra liquid (one teaspoon at a time) if the mixture refuses to blend. The goal is to keep it very thick.
Blend until completely smooth and the mixture resembles soft-serve ice cream.
Spoon the thick mixture immediately into a bowl.
Add your desired toppings and serve right away.
Notes
For the thickest bowl, use only frozen bananas and minimal liquid. If your blender struggles, let the bananas thaw for five minutes before blending.
Add a handful of fresh spinach for hidden greens; the chocolate flavor masks the taste.
If you want a higher protein option, add 1 tablespoon of chia seeds or hemp seeds to the blender.
