Ingredients
Scale
2 cans (15 ounces each) chickpeas, rinsed and drained
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 teaspoon chili powder
1/2 teaspoon cumin
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional)
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
Instructions
Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
Pat the rinsed chickpeas completely dry with a paper towel. This is key for maximum crispiness!
In a medium bowl, toss the dried chickpeas with olive oil until evenly coated.
In a small bowl, mix together chili powder, cumin, garlic powder, cayenne pepper (if using), salt, and black pepper.
Sprinkle the spice mixture over the chickpeas and toss until they are well coated.
Spread the seasoned chickpeas in a single layer on a baking sheet.
Roast for 20-30 minutes, or until the chickpeas are golden brown and crispy. Shake the pan halfway through for even roasting.
Let them cool slightly before enjoying your delicious, crunchy snack.
Notes
For extra crispiness, you can remove the skins from the chickpeas before roasting, but it’s not essential.
Feel free to adjust the spices to your preference. Smoked paprika or onion powder are great additions!
These are best enjoyed fresh, but can be stored in an airtight container at room temperature for a few days. They may lose some of their crispness over time.
