Make tender chicken coated in a sticky, sweet, and spicy honey sriracha sauce using your Instant Pot.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1.5 lbs boneless, skinless chicken breasts or thighs
  • 1/2 cup chicken broth
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 3 tablespoons sriracha sauce
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 1 teaspoon cornstarch mixed with 1 tablespoon cold water (slurry)
  • Optional: Sesame seeds and sliced green onions for garnish

Instructions

  1. Place the chicken pieces in the inner pot of your Instant Pot.
  2. Pour the chicken broth over the chicken.
  3. In a small bowl, whisk together the honey, sriracha, soy sauce, rice vinegar, garlic powder, and ginger.
  4. Pour the sauce mixture over the chicken in the Instant Pot.
  5. Secure the lid and set the vent to sealing.
  6. Cook on High Pressure for 8 minutes for breasts or 10 minutes for thighs.
  7. Allow for a Natural Pressure Release (NPR) for 5 minutes, then manually release any remaining pressure.
  8. Carefully remove the chicken and set it aside.
  9. Set the Instant Pot to Sauté mode.
  10. Pour the cornstarch slurry into the liquid remaining in the pot and stir constantly until the sauce thickens, about 1-2 minutes.
  11. Return the chicken to the pot and toss to coat completely in the thickened sauce.
  12. Serve immediately, garnished with sesame seeds and green onions.

Notes

  • For a thicker sauce, cook the sauce on Sauté mode for an extra minute before adding the chicken back in.
  • Serve this chicken over cooked white or brown rice to soak up the extra sauce.
  • If you prefer a milder heat, start with 2 tablespoons of sriracha and add more to taste.
