Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 cups water
  • 4 chai tea bags (or 4 tablespoons loose leaf chai)
  • 1/4 cup sugar (or to taste)
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 1/8 teaspoon ground cardamom
  • 1/8 teaspoon ground cloves
  • 1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 cups milk (dairy or non-dairy)
  • Ice cubes

Instructions

  1. Boil water in a saucepan.
  2. Add tea bags, sugar, cinnamon, ginger, cardamom, and cloves to the boiling water.
  3. Reduce heat and simmer for 5-10 minutes, allowing the spices to infuse the tea.
  4. Remove from heat and stir in vanilla extract.
  5. Strain the chai concentrate into a pitcher, discarding the tea bags and spices. Let it cool.
  6. Fill glasses with ice cubes.
  7. Pour the cooled chai concentrate over the ice, filling about halfway.
  8. Top with milk.
  9. Stir gently and enjoy your homemade Iced Chai Latte.

Notes

  • Adjust sugar and spices to your personal preference.
  • For a stronger chai flavor, steep the tea bags longer.
  • Experiment with different types of milk like almond, oat, or coconut milk for varied flavors.
  • Add a splash of cream for extra richness.
