Make this highly stuffed, savory loaf filled with seasoned ground beef, crispy bacon, and melted cheese, all wrapped in pizza dough.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound pizza dough, store-bought or homemade
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 small onion, chopped
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 cup bacon, cooked and crumbled
  • 1 cup mozzarella cheese, shredded
  • 1 cup cheddar cheese, shredded
  • 1/2 cup Parmesan cheese, grated
  • 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Heat the olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add the ground beef and chopped onion. Cook until the beef is browned and the onion is soft, about 6 to 8 minutes. Drain off any excess grease.
  3. Stir the garlic powder, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper into the beef mixture. Remove from heat.
  4. In a bowl, combine the cooked beef mixture, crumbled bacon, mozzarella cheese, cheddar cheese, and Parmesan cheese. Mix well.
  5. On a lightly floured surface, roll or stretch the pizza dough into a large rectangle, about 12 by 16 inches.
  6. Spoon the meat and cheese filling down the center third of the dough, leaving a 2-inch border on the short ends.
  7. Fold one long side of the dough over the filling. Fold the other long side over to completely cover the filling, overlapping slightly. Pinch the long seam closed firmly.
  8. Fold the short ends inward and pinch them closed to seal the loaf completely. Place the loaf seam-side down on the prepared baking sheet.
  9. Brush the entire surface of the loaf with the beaten egg wash.
  10. Bake for 25 to 30 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and the cheese inside is melted.
  11. Let the bread cool for 5 minutes before slicing and serving.

Notes

  • You can substitute the ground beef with ground sausage or ground turkey for a different flavor profile.
  • For an extra crispy crust, sprinkle a little coarse salt over the egg wash before baking.
  • Serve this bread with a side of warm marinara sauce for dipping.
