Ingredients
Scale
1/2 cup rolled oats
1 tablespoon chia seeds
2 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder
1/4 cup Greek yogurt (or dairy-free alternative)
1/2 cup milk (dairy or non-dairy)
1-2 teaspoons maple syrup or honey (adjust to taste)
1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
Pinch of salt
Optional: 1 tablespoon mini chocolate chips for topping
Instructions
In a jar or container with a lid, combine the rolled oats, chia seeds, cocoa powder, and salt. Stir these dry ingredients together well.
Add the Greek yogurt, milk, maple syrup, and vanilla extract to the jar.
Stir everything thoroughly until the cocoa powder is fully mixed in and there are no dry clumps remaining. You want a creamy, uniform mixture.
Seal the container and place it in the refrigerator for at least 4 hours, but preferably overnight.
In the morning, check the consistency. If it is too thick, add a splash more milk.
Top with optional chocolate chips or your favorite toppings before enjoying this quick grab and go meal.
Notes
For a high protein oats boost, add one scoop of your preferred chocolate protein powder when mixing the dry ingredients.
If you prefer a thinner consistency, increase the milk amount slightly.
This recipe is excellent for meal prep oatmeal; make 3-4 jars at once for the week.
If you want a peanut butter flavor, add 1 tablespoon of peanut butter with the wet ingredients.
