Ingredients
Scale
1 (21 ounce) can cherry pie filling
1 (15.25 ounce) box yellow cake mix
1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, melted
Instructions
Preheat your oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Lightly grease a 9×13 inch baking dish.
Spread the entire can of cherry pie filling evenly into the bottom of the prepared baking dish. Do not drain the filling.
Sprinkle the dry yellow cake mix evenly over the cherry filling layer. Do not mix.
Pour the melted butter evenly over the dry cake mix layer.
Bake for 45 to 55 minutes, or until the topping is golden brown and the filling is bubbly around the edges.
Let the dump cake cool for at least 15 minutes before serving.
Notes
For a slightly different flavor, substitute the yellow cake mix with white or butter cake mix.
If you prefer a crispier topping, bake uncovered.
Serve warm with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream for a richer dessert.
