Ingredients
Scale
2 large sweet potatoes, scrubbed and cut into fry shapes
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
1 teaspoon minced fresh garlic (optional, for extra flavor)
Instructions
Soak the cut sweet potato fries in cold water for 30 minutes. Drain them well and pat them completely dry with paper towels. This step helps achieve crispiness.
In a large bowl, toss the dry sweet potato fries with olive oil, garlic powder, salt, and pepper until evenly coated.
Preheat your air fryer to 380°F (195°C).
Place the seasoned fries in a single layer in the air fryer basket. Work in batches if necessary to avoid overcrowding.
Air fry for 10 minutes. Shake the basket well.
Continue to air fry for another 5 to 10 minutes, or until the fries are tender inside and slightly crispy outside.
Remove the basket from the air fryer. Immediately toss the hot fries with the grated Parmesan cheese and fresh minced garlic, if using.
Serve right away.
Notes
Drying the potatoes thoroughly before seasoning is crucial for crisp results.
If you prefer a stronger garlic flavor, you can add 1/2 teaspoon of garlic powder to the Parmesan cheese mixture before tossing.
For extra crispiness, you can spray the fries lightly with cooking spray halfway through the cooking time.
