Make crispy buffalo chicken taquitos quickly in your air fryer. This recipe provides simple steps for crunchy, flavorful appetizers perfect for snacking or game days.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup cooked, shredded chicken breast
  • 1/2 cup buffalo wing sauce
  • 4 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 12 small corn tortillas
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil or cooking spray

Instructions

  1. In a medium bowl, combine the shredded chicken, buffalo sauce, softened cream cheese, garlic powder, and salt. Mix until the filling is uniform.
  2. Warm the corn tortillas in the microwave for 20-30 seconds to make them pliable.
  3. Place about 2 tablespoons of the chicken mixture near one edge of a warm tortilla.
  4. Roll the tortilla tightly around the filling to form a taquito. Secure the seam with a toothpick if necessary. Repeat with the remaining tortillas and filling.
  5. Lightly spray or brush the outside of each taquito with olive oil or cooking spray. This helps them crisp up.
  6. Preheat your air fryer to 380 degrees Fahrenheit (195 degrees Celsius).
  7. Arrange the taquitos in a single layer in the air fryer basket, ensuring they do not overlap. Work in batches if needed.
  8. Air fry for 8 to 10 minutes, flipping them halfway through the cooking time, until they are golden brown and crispy.
  9. Remove the toothpicks before serving. Serve immediately with your preferred dipping sauce.

Notes

  • For extra crispiness, you can lightly spray the taquitos again halfway through cooking.
  • If you prefer a smoother filling, mix the cream cheese and chicken in a food processor until combined before adding the sauce.
  • These taquitos freeze well. Place cooked taquitos on a baking sheet to freeze solid, then transfer to a freezer bag. Air fry from frozen, adding 3-5 minutes to the cook time.
